Maya Devi Temple is one of the shakti peeth with history saying that the place where heart and navel of the Goddess Sati had fallen. Daksheswara temple in nearby Kankhal is a tribute to King Daksh being one of the important historical figures in Indian mythology.

Sapta Rishi Ashram is the place where seven great sages are said to have meditated with Ganga splitting into seven currents not disturbing the sages.
